Trigger

A short film following the events leading up to a school shooting, focusing on the shooter.

For this film, I focused on the duality between what the main character perceives and what is actually happening in the real world.  I chose to to fill his room with dark colors and shadows to represent the state of his mind.  The school has more saturated colors to show how overwhelming this location is for the main character and how falsely happy it appears to him.

The indoor school location is actually an abandoned animal shelter that I dressed from classroom to hallway to give the location some color as well as make it look like a high school.

This was a tough shoot, mostly because of scheduling and budget issues; we shot this in 4 days with about $4,000.  I acted as the screenwriter, production designer, and costume designer for this film, which was a little bit hectic but definitely worth it, especially when we were forced to make last minute changes to the script in the middle of a shooting day.
